Day 1-2 - Fly from Cleveland to Athens. Drive to Thessaloniki, a city rich in history, over 2,300
years old. The Thessalonian church was a beloved community of St. Paul to whom he wrote two
letters. Dinner and overnight at Metropolitan Hotel (https://www.metropolitan.gr/en/)

Day 3 - Visit the Archaeological Museum in Thessaloniki with the treasures of Virgena (ancient capital of Macedonia) before heading to the humble river in Philippi, where Paul baptized the first Christian in Europe, Lydia. Visit the chapel dedicated to this generous woman of faith who hosted the very first house church, walk through the impressive ruins of the city, see the prison where Paul and Silas were held after being flogged, but then miraculously released. Relax at the beautiful port of Kavala, from which St. Paul entered Philippi. Dinner and overnight in Thessaloniki.
Day 4 - Begin at the foothills of Kedrinos Hill to the cave and well of St. Paul, and the house of
Jason (Monastery of Viattadon) who befriended St. Paul against the hostile mob in Thessaloniki (Acts 17), before St. Paul escaped to Berea, our next destination. From there, spend the remainder of the day at the breathtaking Meteora, a landscape replete with enormous jutting rock formations into which monasteries were built since the 11th century. Dinner and overnight at Kosta Famissi Kalambaka Hotel (https://kostafamissihotel.com/)
Day 5 - Travel the mountainous Greek countryside to arrive in Delphi, the center of the ancient
world - the “Omphalos”- (“Naval of the Earth”) whose prestige extended far beyond the
boundaries of the Hellenic universe. On the slopes of Mount Parnassus, a landscape of
unparalleled beauty and majesty, lay the ruins of the Sanctuary of Apollo Pythios, the temple of
Apollo, and the museum containing masterpieces of ancient Greek sculpture, such as the
bronze Charioteer and famous athlete Aghias. Continue to Athens for dinner and overnight at Athenaeum Grand Hotel (https://athenaeumgrand.com.gr/portal/)
Day 6 - Explore Athens’ world-renowned Acropolis, the ruins of the Parthenon, Erechteum, and
Propylaea. Then, ascend Mars Hill, where St. Paul preached, passing by the
Agora (ancient marketplace, and former center of Athenian public life), House of Parliament, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and the Presidential Palace. Depart for a brief stop at Corinth
Canal, which separates the Peloponnese from the Greek mainland and connects the two seas
(Ionian and Aegean). In Corinth, home to St. Paul for 18 months, see the Archaeological
Museum, the Marketplace and the Temples, and the Bema from which St. Paul
preached to the Corinthians. Athens for dinner and overnight.
